Goods and Services:

 

 

1.   Goods

 

Goods includes things that are used or consumed,

for example clothing and food. 

Here are examples of goods:

Soft Drinks

 

Pets

 

Food

 

New Car

 

House

 

 

  Can you think of any more?

Raise your hand and tell your teacher other goods you know.

 

  The Story of Milk

See how milk goes from the cow to you!

 

 

 

2.  Services

Services are work done for others, such as a teacher or a fire fighter.

Look at these people providing services:

 

Teaching

 

House Cleaning

 

Repair

 

Radio Announcer

 

Postal Service

Raise your hand and tell your teacher other services you know.

 

 

 

 

 

3.  Services that create Goods

Sometimes people provide services that result in a good being created.

Like this…

 

Restaurant

A chef at a restaurant provides the service of cooking a meal that you may eat.

5.  Thinking time!

 

1.  Think about what kind of job you would like to have when you are older.

2.  Go to http://www.google.com

3.  Type in the name of the job you want.

4.  Research your job.

5.  Create a page to print out by using this page…click here

6.  Write about your job and answer these questions: 

-Is your job a mainly a service or does it provide a good?

-What process (steps) do you or your good have to go through to get to other people who may want it?

-Include a picture (copy and paste) from the web or after printing, include a picture on your page.
