Partners in Education Mission Statement

Partners in Education are designed to encourage a cooperative relationship between a school and a business or organization. This collaboration is an ongoing, dynamic relationship that must be mutually beneficial for the school and the business or organization working together. Creativity and imagination from both parties can lead to a very interesting and successful partnership. The relationship is directed towards the needs of the students.

A Friend is a business or organization that supports our school by donating their goods or services a few times per year in support of an activity or event at the school for both facility and students.

A Sponsorship is when we ask a business or organization to provide their service for a one-time event or activity. This relationship is not on-going throughout the school year.

The purpose of Partners, Friends, and Sponsors in Education is to support student achievement through businesses or organizations donating their time, goods and services in support of school curriculum and programs. In turn, the school staff and community will promote and support the partner, friend or sponsor.

Guidelines for making a request from a partner or sponsor

1. The best way: email Beth O’Donovan (patkat11@besllouth.net) to let her know the event and what it is you need with the name of the business you would like to use. In turn she will provide you with a request form on MPE letterhead. The form needs to be signed by Beth O’Donovan or Ms. Perlman.

2. The email should include the following information:

· Date needed – please two weeks

· Items needed – general number not too specific See Sample Emails

· Business preference – if any

· Event or activity

· Person making the request and your contact information – how do I get the letter to you

3. You can also make a request by filling out a form which can be picked up in the office in the Partners in Education folder. Let me know that the form is there with an email or phone call.

4. We are keeping track of the partner, friend or sponsor we go to and what we are receiving from them. Most importantly, please follow up with a personal thank you note, on letterhead, to the business.

A note of thanks should also be included in the Mustang Flyer noting the business’s time and/or donation.
