![]() On September 15 at 1 p.m., Mountain Park Elementary School will receive a visit from Dr. Anne Hancock from the U.S. Department of Education. Dr. Hancock is the Region IV representative for U.S. Secretary of Education Rod Paige. She will tour the school and discuss the education reforms of No Child Left Behind. In 2003, Mountain Park Elementary School was named a No Child Left Behind – Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education. Formerly called the National Blue Ribbon Schools program, the program honors schools that achieve at exceptional levels. Selected schools must demonstrate dramatic academic improvement in a school environment with significant populations of students from disadvantaged backgrounds or score in the top 10% on state assessments. Mountain Park was recognized for scoring in the top 10% on the 2003 Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests (CRCT). See photos here Read Fulton County Article Back to Recognitions
