More information about recycling at MPE: As part of their unit on pollution, Ms. Welch’s 3rd graders began a recycling service learning project. The project data was used to help implement a full recycling program here at Mountain Park Elementary. MPE already recycles paper (the most found item in landfills today). Mrs. Cerney (Recycling Chair for MPE PTA) provided Ms. Welch's class with a few recycling bins to get us started with collecting more recyclables around the school like plastic bottles, cardboard, and aluminum cans. Ms. Welch's students collect the recyclables from the bins each week so that the Roswell Recycling Center can come and pick it up to be recycled. As our recycling project grows, students will set up a more permanent recycling center in the school and of course it needs a logo! See Ms. Welch's pollution data Go to the Recognition page MPE Home |
